My name is Wendy and I am a Recovering Addict. In the past 5 years my life has become so different than anything I have ever known before; My father was an abusive (both physically & sexually) alcoholic and I have grown up living in the horrors of addiction myself. Inflicting much pain on all those around me and finally reaching my bitter ends in January of 2007, I decided to surrender to a new way of life. After receiving treatment I joined a new support group and began living my life. Today, life is still crazy in all of it's caos (at times), but within myself there is a peace like that I have never known before; I run a web site, a fast-growing fb page, I have become an Alcohol/Addiction Professional Counselor, life coach, & Recovery Coach. Today I am doing what I have always dreamed of doing and that is writing; while working on 2 different books, I find much enjoyment with all those that have joined in on the Wings of Encouragement Facebook page; encouraging one another to take that extra step, go that extra mile, hold on that extra minute, and to never give up on themselves. The poser of positive thinking has become a new way of life for me also; I believe that God created this Universe to work together for all of us; it's up to us whether or not we will take advantage of such a beautiful gift. Within me lies all that I need to be happy, joyous, prosperous, and free, for within me lies the God that I have come to know, in such a personal way. God chose to give me another chance at life and now I am living my dreams; While life still shows up on a regular basis, today I have more healthy way of dealing with the life on life's terms situations. Today I do not have to use drugs NO MATTER WHAT!!! Sincerely Wendy Box
