Edwin "Win" Siegfried
I am an emerging emergency manager with extensive experience in institutional advancement and small business management. As I ascend into the career of emergency management, I bring with me strong skill sets of team building, program development, cultivating relationships, fostering creative partnerships, growing brand awareness, technology, logistics and project management.
My interest in the emergency management field began when I joined my local fire company in 2011 as a volunteer fire police officer. I then completed the required national incident management courses (100,200,700, and 800). Within a year of joining my fire department Hurricane Sandy hit and I experienced firsthand community preparedness and emergency response during a major weather event. It was through this experience that I gained an immediate appreciation for the national response framework and the coordination required between local governments, state governments, and the federal government.
Given my passion for emergency services since I was child, my logistical mindset and job experience skill sets, I am certain that emergency management is my perfect career path.
In 2015 I completed over 250 classroom hours of emergency management education in order to gain a solid foundation in advance of pursuing my Master’s in Emergency Management from the University of New Haven (CT), beginning in the fall of 2016.
