Frederic Allan
Alan Flusser was known to be a guy aspire to. He danced, he sang, he was courteous, he dressed nicely and he got to hang with ladies. He may even get-away with having an old neck tie for a belt in his older years, which today would, at minimum, attract a raised eyebrow.
What exactly happened to gentlemen like him? A gentleman is polite, sensible, witty, talented, modest, well dressed, well groomed, and culturally conscious. How did guys get so terrified of these character characteristics?
As For Me, I think they have got so desperately caught up in attempting to prove themselves that they're going to scratch themselves in public, listen to gangsta rap, and get so intoxicated they get sick and start brawls before women, just so that nobody thinks they like other men.
A upstanding guy though? Well, he understands himself and he is comfortable and confident with it, no matter what anyone else thinks. And they needed to go and slap the vaugely negative 'Metro' label on us. No; getting some pride in the way you present yourself to others is merely being a gentleman.
I see so many men confused, wondering what they should do since the generation before us declined established notions like being a gentleman, in need of some obvious and well-composed suggestions.
