I'm currently a Ph.D. student at the University of South Carolina, focusing on 20th century American literature generally, southern literature more specifically, and the role of southern conservatism in 20th century southern literature most precisely. I'm also interested in using digital technologies to augment and complement traditional humanistic pedagogy.

I grew up in Whiteville, NC, went to college at NC State, roasted coffee for a living for a while, like to watch baseball, work in my garden, and not run air conditioning in the summer. I dabble in open source computing/free software, regularly read several books simultaneously, and have curmudgeonly opinions.

I ain't ashamed to admit I believe in Beauty and Truth, nor am I ashamed to use "ain't" everyday of my life.
