On November the 7th 1975, America was introduced to The New Original Wonder Woman on the ABC Network.

In the 1970s Wonder Woman was the first live action TV hero in that decade starring Cathy Lee Crosby in the tele-movie, along with Ricardo Montablin in 1974. Just over a year later Lynda Carter starred in The New Original Wonder Woman movie in 1975.

Following this, a Wonder Woman television series was planned. First a re-edit of the 1975 film as Wonder Woman in April 1976 along with two TV specials. The ABC network ordered a regular series to be produced in September 1976.

After the success of the series that depicted Wonder Woman during World War Two, the CBS network revamped the series as The New Adventures of Wonder Woman for the years 1977 to 1979.
