Outside of my life in highschool, there aren't many accomplishments that I can be proud of. I graduated as the valedictorian, as well as the student council president. I was an avid member of the music program at Bethune C.I., and I love to create music, especially with other people. I was also the yearbook head photographer in high school. I love to try new things, whether it be taking brazillian jiu jitsu classes for only 2 days, or taking classical singing lessons. Evidently I have a passion for the arts, photography being one of the biggest.
Unlike many other things in high school, I found my strength in writing. The recent realization that my passion lies in writing has only just begun to grow and fan out, and I look forward to learning more in the school of Journalism at Ryerson University.
I see journalism as a journey. As a first-year Journalism student at Ryerson University, I hope to embark on a mission to discover who I am, what culture is, grow in the world I live in. I am on this journey to find my place in the world community, and develop skills that will help me explore all that I find interesting. I want to learn and experience new things, because that is what makes life exciting. I would also love to share the thrill of discovering the culture-rich community through journalism and story-telling. I will meet people, find amazing life stories, and discover humanity. The world can be magically uplifting, and at the same time, somewhere else it can be emotionally devastating. It’s a place for exploration, and I hope to be the tour guide.
