Wonjung Hwang

My top 5 StrengthsQuest Strengths are: empathy, woo, positivity, harmony and includer. The strength that I want to focus on is empathy. Empathy means you can feel what other people are feeling as if their feelings are your own. I identify with this strength the most because I like listening to what is on people's mind and their problems. I don't necessarily pity them, but I have the ability to understand and help people find the right phrases to express their feelings. My ability to empathize with people and help them with their emotions draw people into my life and affects my personal and social life positively.

My favorite Ohio State Tradition is "Light Up the Lake". It is sponsored by student volunteer and leadership society Staters, Inc. with the goal of uniting the student body during holiday season. The program includes a tree lighting ceremony, and it will close with Carmen Ohio and lit candles while students gather around the lake. Students will also have the opportunity to enjoy sweet treats and hot chocolate. It is my favorite OSU tradition because it would be the best way to relieve stress right before finals and join my fellow Buckeyes and spread some Holiday cheer. This year's Light Up the Lake is on Wednesday, December 9th.

As I have made it to the end of my first semester of college, I definitely learned some tips for my friends and future first-year students, which I want to share:
1. Don't procrastinate.
2. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
3. Make connections.
4. Let go of things you wanted to achieve but didn't.
5. Enjoy the moment!
These are the five lessons I learned throughout the semester. They are all from my experience and these will continuously help me as I reach my end goals for my future career.
