Bobby Wooten

Bobby Wooten is a Missouri born former powerlifting and bodybuilding champion who currently resides in Farmington Missouri. At age 4 Wooten moved to Ironton Missouri where his family purchased a farm. Wooten was raised working hard on the farm with his dad and his two brothers and he and his brother Brad enjoyed all sports, especially baseball. Wooten and his brother became standouts for Arcadia Valley High School in Ironton Missouri and Bobby, as a shortstop was named baseball MVP and Arcadia Valley Athlete of the Year in 1990. Around this time, Wooten began weight training when his good friend Scot Siebert, opened a small gym in Ironton. With Sieberts help, Wooten began powerlifting and after winning a few small events, Wooten entered the Central United States Open Powerlifting Championships and placed second. In late 1990, Wooten began training for competitive bodybuilding with the help of former bodybuilder Eric Simmons and former Mr. Missouri MIke Rubottom. In 1991, with only 11 months to train Wooten won the Teenage Mr. Missouri in St. Louis becoming the first person to ever win the event in their first attempt. Wooten later placed in the top ten in the national event, the NPC Ozark Bodybuilding Championships. After a shoulder injury and surgery, a torn pectoral muscle, and the increasing use of anabolic steroids in the sport of bodybuilding, Wooten retired from the sport and started Wooten Sports Performance and Personal Training in Farmington Missouri. During almost 20 years as a trainer he trained many athletes including working with several bodybuilding contestants, NCAA Division 1 athletes and athletes from the NBA, NFL and even WWE wrestling. After years of playing competitive softball, Wooten now enjoys golf, carrying a scratch handicap and competing in amateur tournaments.
