Drew Gerken

First and foremost, I am a collector of hobbies and a dreamer. My family jokes with me about how many dreams I have to pursue - from starting a microbrewery, to being a chef or food truckie, to being an author, and many more.

While there is time to nurture all of my hobbies, I am currently focused on my writing. Typically, I write in the Fantasy genre, but I love to experiment outside of those walls from time to time. I enjoy all sub-genres of the Fantasy family, and I hope to publish Epic as well as YA novels in my endeavors. My current (and most promising) project pulls me out of the Fantasy genre altogether, however.

I also hold a degree in Secondary Education (English/Language Arts). I have been told that I have a way with kids - a way of connecting to them on a deeper level and a way of relating curriculum to them in a relevant manner. I maintain a personal motto in my teachings: Engagement through Inspiration. Relationships, Relevancy, and Growth.

I pursue opportunities which will further myself as an individual, husband, father, and professional. I only accept jobs which I feel will teach me something new, or push my current skillset to the next level. I enjoy learning new trades and embrace challenge.
