Wordy Thompson

Director of Texas Discount Siding and Windows in Austin, Wordy Thompson oversees the sales and management operations of the exterior remodeling company. Wordy Thompson initially entered the construction industry in his youth, helping his family with unloading material, handling lumber and sheetrock, and driving delivery trucks. Listening closely to his father’s descriptions of the days’ work, Wordy Thompson gained an intimate understanding of the construction business. Wordy Thompson’s mother worked in the oil industry for several years, which later influenced his decision to purchase and run oil leases in South Texas for some time. In college, Wordy Thompson studied history, political science, and law, earning a Bachelor of Arts from Austin College and a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. A proponent of civil rights, Wordy Thompson supports charitable causes such as the National Organization for Women, Southern Poverty Law Center, the American Civil Liberties Union, public radio, and the Sierra Club. In his spare time, Wordy Thompson enjoys traveling to visit and experience cultures beyond his own. Wordy Thompson also devotes time to providing direct assistance to people without homes or shelter. Possessing a pilot’s license, Wordy Thompson likes to go flying, and is particularly interested in multi-engine sea and land planes.
