Matthew Worwood
I consider myself foremost an educator. I’ve always felt compelled to share information and often felt it best presented as part of a story. Immediately after graduation from college I established a theater company and produced my first production called ‘A Cause for Concern’. I later trained as an elementary teacher and produced educational theater before moving into short film.
I dissolved my production company after moving to the United States and went on to play with digital media before taking on a role at the Center for 21st Century Skills.
During this time I developed an interest in creativity and how digital technologies can be used to improve how we deliver instruction and cultivate creative thinking. I founded the Connecticut Student Film Festival, developed a digital media sequence for the Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, and established a 3D virtual world called IVCS2.
I’ve since produced a documentary film that explores creativity in education and now work at the University of Connecticut Digital Media and Design Department where I hope to further my knowledge of Digital Media and its impact on the creative process.
