Wren Decker
Student in La Grange, Illinois
Hello, welcome to my page! My name is Lauren Decker but I go by Wren. I am a current student at Nazareth Academy College Prep High School in Lagrange Park, IL. I come from a family of 6. My family is my rock and the backbone of my life. Along with family, I have a deep passion for the sport of volleyball. I have been playing volleyball since I was 10 years old. I am currently the captain of the Varsity Girl’s volleyball team at Nazareth Academy. Sports have been a huge part of my life and have contributed to who I am today. In addition to volleyball, I have also played basketball, softball, soccer, cheerleading, cross country, track and field, dance, and swimming. Through sports, I have developed qualities such as versatility, leadership, dedication, competitiveness, and commitment. Along with my athletic side, I also have a deep passion for the arts. I love anything creative such as writing, drawing, photography, DIY crafts, and theater. Over the course of my life, I have been involved in many art related experiences such as winning the grand prize in the Nicor Gas drawing contest, winning second place in the American Legion writing contest, winning both 5th and 1st place in a school speech contest, getting the lead role of Jasmine in the play Aladdin, and working with my Uncle in his photography studio in New York for a summer. The arts bring out the creative and quirky side of me. In addition to family, athletics, and arts, I value service. From helping coach numerous volleyball teams, going on a Solsberry service to Indiana, and to volunteering at my parish’ food pantry, I love to get involved within my community. Getting involved is my life motto. I love getting involved in things that could help others and in things that you would have never expected to develop a passion for. I hope to get involved and work with you someday!
