I'm a family doctor turned climate activist. I started and was medical director of a rural mobile clinic serving uninsured, homeless, and undocumented people for 22 years. Now I work with health professionals across the country to raise our voices for climate action. Bottom line: We're making people sick faster than we can cure them. We need upstream solutions: clean energy, active transportation, sustainable agriculture; and so does our planet. I'm lucky to live in Humboldt County in rural northern California. Other interests are bike touring (have crossed the country twice on pedal powered speaking tours about climate and health) creative repurposing, and anything involved with digging dirt.
