Eyiwumi Olayinka
Lecturer and Researcher in Nigeria
I am a Reader in the Department of European Studies, University of Ibadan, one of Africa's foremost research universities where I have built a 13-year academic career on top of nearly two decades of research administration at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), one of the world's leading international agricultural research centres. My scholarship sits at the intersection of Francophone African literature, feminist theory, postcolonial studies, and psychoanalytic literary criticism. I investigate how patriarchal structures, colonial trauma, and psychological defence mechanisms shape the representation of women in African and Francophone literature, autobiography, and performance.
