Rosemary Chiaverini
I was born in the Bronx, New York to Marguerite and Joseph Chiaverini on July 14, 1949 which puts me into that famous demographic: "Irish-Italian New York Catholics." As a kid, I dreamed of moving to California (I was impressed by all the soap operas which took place there - sunshine in February, etc. - you get the picture.) I was a Beatlemaniac and was fortunate to go to the Ed Sullivan Show and to eventually meet them. In my teens, due to boredom and hating my high school, I ran a fan club for singer Jack Jones through which I met a man named Nick Sevano. That meeting would change my life. In May 1969, he introduced me to his new client, Glen Campbell, and asked me if I would like to be his assistant in Los Angeles. (Two seconds later, I said "yes!") The week after the moon landing, I flew out here and have been here every since.
My Celebrity Assistant career included serving as Anthony Newley's road manager, and acting as personal assistant to Kirstie Alley and John Candy. I was borrowed a couple of times - Frank Sinatra for one and helped Robert Wagner with all the condolence cards upon Natalie Wood's death.
My most favorite job, however, was working as Alan Alda's Executive Assistant which included 7 years on the M*A*S*H set. Alan exposed me to the finer things in life, most importantly, classical music which is one of my passions. My name is in an episode of the show....wonder if you'll find it!
After 20 years in the business, I moved to La Quinta where I was so miserable I ballooned up to over 248 pounds. The desert heat and boredom motivated me to move back to LA. Luckily, I landed a job at UCLA where I worked for 16 years. Am forever grateful to UCLA for their benefits as I was diagnosed with cancer in 2003. (Am still here!)
I now work for Weight Watchers full-time. Besides leading 11 meetings per week, I am an Ambassador and Leader Coach. In September, I decided to become a travel agent (Alan exposed me to that too) and am an independent travel consultant with Willett Travel (FROSCH/Studio City).
My volunteer work is limited to one but it's one of the joys of my life: I am Membership Chair, Secretary and Treasurer for the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Affiliate at Large Committee.
France is my favorite place in the world. Home, I live with Zoe and Mollie (rescued lovebuckets) among hundreds of books, CDs and DVDs.
