Charles Laramie

My name is Charles Laramie and first and foremost I am the father of Olivia 15, and Liam, 12. They are the reason I feel compelled to get involved in the discussion of what America's future will be. They're my children and like millions of others their age, America's future and greatest resource. We need to do our best to insure it's a future full of hope. Born and raised in Vermont, I enlisted in the United States Navy serving aboard the USS Albert David FF 1050 from 1977-1980 and in the Vermont Air National Guard 1987-1988. I have a Masters Degree in Education and am currently in my nineteenth year of teaching. Sixteen of those years were spent teaching in a residential program for “At Risk Youth”. The last three have been in the public school system. Prior to teaching I worked eight years in roofing. Because of my experience I understand the concerns of a wide spectrum of those in the work force. I've served on the Library Board of Fair Haven for six years the last four as Treasurer. I am active in my children' lives and education. I enjoy running, biking, working out and hiking. I've run the Boston Marathon, dabbled a little in skydiving and have an advanced certification in scuba diving. My travels have taken me across North America, Asia and Europe.
