Guillermo Martí Ceballos

Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain

(Barcelona, 1958)

Son of artist painter Oriol Martí Valls, at a very early age his father introduces young Guillermo to painting.

Later on and after studying Drawing and Graphic Design at the Escuela Massana in Barcelona, he joins the Cercle Artistic de Sant LLuc, where he carries out a great number of outdoor and female nude studies. Afterwards he is admitted into the Boter-Santaló school, thus consolidating his academic formation. Following an impressionist stage, he comes across color in its purest form and freedom of expression. His work, thus, shows his great admiration for Fauvist painting (Matisse, Derain) and German expressionists (Macke, Kirchner, etc), but on each one of his new pieces one can witness an increasingly new approach, full of present-day intimate sensations.

As from 1996 he exhibits his work on a regular basis at different galleries across the Spanish geography, as well as currently in France. His paintings can also be found in diverse countries such as the Netherlands, France, Italy, the United States.
