Burke grew up decades ago, in a very small town in New England, when creativity, ambition and great fun were part of everyday life. Being full Irish, the where other encounters that usually crossed his path, but his fascination with the muscular human body ensued, he became a bodybuilder. Winning his first contest in the UK when stationed in England in US Air Force for three years, Burke went back to the US and after another
and often time philosophical story teller, in the 1960’s during his teenage years. Putting the guitar down, temporarily, to join the US Air Force in the mid-to-late 1970’s, Burke also worked diligently on his physical body and became a champion arm-wrestler and bodybuilder while stationed overseas in the military. Once honorably discharged in 1983 (after 6 total years of active service) Burke took it all to New York City and soon found himself speaking in such classics as “Ray,” in the Julia Roberts’ breakout Hollywood movie, Mystic Pizza; having ongoing parts in Guiding light and Spenser For Hire, and hitting it big in the National TV Commercial market playing “Hercules” in a 2001 Wendy’s commercial and an Olympic Weight Lifter in a 1984 Levi’s and Sears commercial, which aired during the Olympics of that year (in Los Angeles), Burke also played the NYC club seen as a singer/songwriter at night during those years. Playing every venue from CBGB’s to the Bleaker Street greats, Burke had become a very bright star in a city that only advertises for its’ biggest and brightest. Burke is now working on his second CD and a short film. For now, listening to these great songs should make you stand up and take note of one of the few true multi-talented men around. This CD has all of the sounds that make you want to listen to it over and over. - See more at:
