Though born in the ancient city of Kano in the mid seventies, Israel Ophori, currently based in Warri,Delta state is an indigene of Ughelli South in Delta State, Nigeria. He is a practicing freelance photo-journalist who believes strongly in the art of photojournalism , as he speaks about it as a passion. He sees his profession as a natural visual documentation of everyday happenings around our daily life from the creator who made all things possible. Israel Ophori who studied photography at the Yaba College of Technology between 2003 and 2005, has worked as a photojournalist for Niger Delta Standard Newspaper, a regional print media house based in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria, Glitterati Magazine and 234Next Sunday Edition. His works ranges from photojournalism, artistic documentary photography of every day life and commercial photography, multimedia. He participated in P.A.P.A. (Participatory Art Press Agencies) workshop that was held in lagos in 2009 organized by the Dutch based public space artist Lino Hellings and sponsored by both the Dutch Embassy in Nigeria and the African Artists Foundation (A.A.F.) in Ikoyi, Lagos.
