This is a exciting art related to a small grouping of parents and their children, one-child per person works the very best. Each mother will need:
---One soft wash, any dimension but 1/2' works the best
---One little 1-ounce container of 'One-Stroke Ceramic underglaze', both Duncan E-Z Stroke or Gare One-Stroke. (Needless to say they could discuss these, however it is best if they've at least 3 colors to select from. The best certainly are a dark green, a dark blue or a dark brown. One vessel of each color will do 50 hands completely)
---One pint container of 'obvious gloss glaze', which all may use.
---A sponge
---Paper towels and a washcloth
---One bare UNglazed ceramic tile, 4-1/4' (for kids two or three yrs. Dig up new information on the affiliated encyclopedia by clicking inside http://www.woodlooktiles.com/ceramic-tile.html/. old or so) or 6' (for children over 3) Unless you know a person who does hand-painted tile as a job, these would have to be obtained in cases of 10-0 or so. The best thing would be to call the hobby ceramic stores, where you'll get the underglaze and obvious glaze, and ask if they have a 'shaped greenware or bisque hardwood they sell', and order the quantity you need. Tell them you'd like them 'fired to bisque.'
The main thing is that the childrens' hands are scrubbed with soap and water, then dry well. Sodium, sugar or oils o-n the arms may prevent the glaze from connection using the tile. Be sure to clean the hardwood well using a clean sponge in plain water. Allow to dry a couple of minutes.
Tell the kids that it's like hand-painting just without wiggling their fingers. Allow it to be exciting, some get scared. Maintain their clear hand lightly over a tile to make sure their hand can fit, hands spread out a little. Choose the correct size tile and paint one wet layer of glaze across the level of their open hand, not too runny but not too dry, follwing the instructions for mixing to the package. Attempt to keep their hands from touching, the more however they keep their hand, the greater the quality. Fingerprints will be shown by a good print! But when it smears, it generally does, it is all for fun anyway. Let him go, when he sees another kids having a great time he'll offer his hand-to be painted, if it starts to turn into a struggle with the kid. (I say 'he' as it is usually the chil
