Wyatt Mould studied to become a journeyman lineman at Northwest Lineman College (NLC) in Meridian, Idaho. Established in 1993, NLC is a private technical school dedicated to preparing students for careers in the power delivery industry. After completing his studies, he entered the IBEW Mountain States Line Constructors Joint Apprenticeship and Training (MSLCAT) Program, which combines classroom instruction with practical, hands-on experience. Through this program, he gained valuable knowledge in live-line work, electrical troubleshooting, and high-voltage maintenance while strengthening his understanding of safety procedures and electrical theory.

He spent three years working on power lines throughout Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Texas, traveling wherever his crew was needed to repair outages or expand the power grid. This experience allowed him to work in varied terrains and weather conditions, building strong teamwork and adaptability—essential traits in linework.

At NLC, he completed a rigorous 15-week pre-apprentice program that blended classroom learning with fieldwork. He studied the fundamentals of electrical systems, including circuits, voltage, and current, while developing practical skills such as pole climbing, conductor handling, splicing, and equipment operation. Safety was a primary focus, and he trained in high-voltage awareness, fall protection, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.

As a lineman, he constructed, maintained, and repaired electrical power systems, including overhead and underground lines, poles, transformers, and switches. His work required precision, focus, and teamwork, often under demanding conditions like storms or extreme heat.

He has been an excavator at Borden Excavating in St. Calimesa, California, for over three years. In this role, he works with wet utilities, installing new water mains and servicing customer meter boxes. While there, he also completed a two-year construction laborer apprenticeship at AGC in Riverside, California, gaining hands-on experience in trenching, grading, pipe installation, and heavy equipment operation.

He volunteers at Carol’s Kitchen in Riverside, California, dedicating over 100 hours to helping feed people experiencing homelessness. Guided by his Christian faith and close family ties, he enjoys golf, motorcycle rides, camping, pool, skateboarding, and staying active—qualities that reflect Wyatt Mould's dedication and integrity.
