WYNNIE CHUNG
Design-Researcher and Design Educator in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Wynnie is a HCI design-researcher specialized in embodied interaction design. Her research brings a body-centred perspective to the user design-research process by understanding the nuances of how the human body engages with new interfaces and environments.
She specializes in a unique blend of exploratory qualitative research, soft physical computing, visual communication design, and design thinking to create new visual + interactive experiences.
Her research focuses on revealing potentials of tacit knowledge (skills, ideas, experiences) and integrating them to wearable technologies that support human health and well-being. Her designs showcase how people can express and storytell their experiences through interactive objects and environments.
Wynnie currently teaches design courses in interactive narratives, new media design, visual communication, and research + design writing at Simon Fraser University's School of Interactive Arts & Technology Program.
She is a Co-Founder of Creatist Box Studio, a wearable tech design studio that creates expressive wearable pieces and facilitates educational workshops focusing on soft circuitry and design thinking for young creative minds.
