Xavier Farré

I'm Xavier Farré Manzorro, I'm 34 and i live in La Garriga, Barcelona (Spain). I've the degree in physics coursed in the UAB and I also have the CAP title (Certificat d'Aptitud Pedahgògica) also obtained in the UAB. For more than 8 years I've been working as IT project manager in an important publishing house in Spain, in the EdTech department. Almost all projects in which I have participated in one way or another are related to EdTech: digital books, educational Apps, education platforms, content - platform integrations, IT solutions for schools, etc.

I've been in contact with most of the relevant actors in the Catalan and Spanish educational model: students, teachers, publishers, education IT administration personal, politicians, etc.

My fields of expertise are the use of digital educational resources, content and platforms, in presencial education in Spain, content digitalitzation and creation in many formats and pedagogical tendencies related to increasing IT tool usage in schools.

My main strengths in my current job are the combination of EdTech knowledge and experience with general IT and engineering software knowledge and team leadership skills. In practice, I also have a role of EdTech consultant inside my company and sporadically also for teachers, schools and public administrations.

By doing the e-learning master degree at UOC I expect to aggregate and consolidate under a solid and scientific base what I've learnt in my experience so far. Also, of course, I expect to learn a lot of new things, both theoretical and practical that can help me to increase my skills in taking product or strategic decisions in a technological education environment whether it is presential, blended or purely online.
