“history” with a small “h”, not the big History.

Haaaaaaaaaa…

We all live a history. All our histories make something bigger. They make the History.
We all contribute, even if we are not conscious about it.
Wherever and whoever you are, you live in a certain way, do something … or not.
Doing nothing is already something. ;-)
Absence is not nothing. It is something: it is a state that has concrete, measurable consequences.
It can evolve.

This is fascinating how the threads of our histories, of our stories interpenetrate, influence each other and create a complex canvas.

The LEVERAGE POWER
I’m thrilled about the power, the inner power we can leverage within ourselves and in others.
This often starts by raising a kind of awareness.
Individual self-awareness. Organizational (within corporations, NGO…) awareness.
Then, we see the gaps … in skills, in knowledge, in culture, in behaviors, in actions we took, in choices we made.
We see the gaps … between what it is and something we consider more valuable, more interesting… a goal, a vision, a mission.

From this point, we can start to readjust something.
I quite never really believed in “fixing” thoughts or people. This is why I prefer the word “readjusting”. More I evolve in my personal pathway and professional practice, more proven it is every day. Exchanging “fixing” by “readjusting” is less a matter of choice of words than really a matter of way of thinking, way of evaluating, accepting a situation and then making sound decisions and actions.
The experience and scientific researches show us that “fixing” just doesn’t work on the long term. Fixing or compensating might be efficient on a very short period of time and usually goes with a high cost in terms of physical, intellectual and emotional fatigue, in terms of decreasing motivation, engagement, creativity, collaboration, leadership and finally in a generic and broad term… productivity.
I work with individuals and with organizations.
Anyway organizations exist through and, in a certain way, are defined by their people. So it’s always a matter of people, whatever their roles are.

In my interventions, my personal goal and satisfaction is to make strong and lasting impact and generate high value. It usually leads to more authenticity and by side effect more harmony.
