Xavier Verdaguer

Xavier Verdaguer is an entrepreneur from Barcelona who, in the past 12 years, has launched several technological innovation companies. Xavier has degrees in Information Systems Engineering and Technical Architecture from the Universidad Politecnica de Cataluña and has completed graduate studies at Stanford Universtiy in California. Xavier began his professional career as an IT Director for Consulting Taller de Ingenierías, SA and, at the age of 25, began his career as a serial entrepreneur. In 1997, at the age of 25, he founded his first company under the brand TMT Factory and BCN Media, which offers Software Engineering and Multimedia Communication services. Xavier was CEO of TMT Factory for 11 years. At this stage, Xavier overcame the 2001 technology sector crisis, situated TMT Factory at an international level with 50 employees, and worked for clients such as Gas Natural, Deutsche Bank, Barceló Hotels and JCDecaux. Xavier ceded the post as director to his partner Daniel Urruchua in April 2009, shortly after becoming a shareholder in the Sequoia PWM Fund in an operation involving an investment 7.4 million Euros. Xavier has also been founder and CEO of Integra Interactive, an organization leader in dynamic communication through the screen. Integra Interactive was honored by the county council of Barcelona as the best entrepreneurial initiative of 2006. Some other projects led by Xavier Verdaguer have also been recognized, such as the "Möbius" Award for best Spaniard multimedia production in 1999, and in 2005, the Barcelona City Council Award for business cooperation with the Fundición Dúctil Benito in the joint development of Smartpoint, an innovative public information channel through displays in public ways. Xavier Verdaguer currently resides in Palo Alto (California) where he founded Innovalley, Inc., a company that develops smart fabrics combining the creativity of Barcelona with the latest generation American technology. Innovalley has among its shareholders BConsulting engineering, the innovation studio Haiku, the textile firm Cooking Labs, and the Cetemmsa research center.
