Xenia Xistouri

Teacher, Researcher, and Mother in Nicosia, Cyprus

Xenia Xistouri is a Primary School Teacher and a Mathematics Education Researcher. She has been teaching Mathematics, English as a Foreign Language and Greek Language and Literature to primary school students since 2002. She is a member of the eTwinning community for schools in Europe and has participated in European school projects since November 2013. Xenia Xistouri holds a Master's degree and a PhD in Mathematics Education. She has several scientific journal publications. She also has numerous presentations in Mathematics Education, Cognitive Psychology and Educational Technology conferences, with contribution in the proceedings. Her research interests include cognitive development in mathematics, ICT in mathematics learning, individual differences in learning mathematics from interactive media, and HCI in mathematics learning.Xenia Xistouri has been awarded a grant for her PhD research, titled "The effect of two interactive-dynamic resources on elementary students' ability in transformational geometry". The project was funded by the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation's Framework Programme for Research, Technological Development and Innovation 2009 -2010 (DESMI 2009-2010), which is co-funded by the Republic of Cyprus and the European Regional Development Fund (Grant:PENEK/0609/57) .
