Xiao Lin

I am a student currently living in Brooklyn. My interests range from technology to design. I am also interested in cycling, coffee, and cats.

I participated in the SYEP summer bridge program in the summer of 2020. I learned a lot from this valuable experience. I learned about job seeking tricks, financial knowledge and career pathways from Hats & Latter and PBL. I think the most memorable experience is the workplace challenge part. At the beginning, I was afraid that I could barely make contributions to my team. At the planning stage of the project , my teammates were actively involved and worked as a group. Influenced by them, I became more integrated into my group and started to share my ideas And opinions. Later, I became the graphic designer of the team and created app interfaces for our prototype. My colleagues were impressed by my designs. To be honest, I thought my interests are only limited in the engineering field. However, I realized that I also enjoy digital illustration and design through this experience. I will definitely be braver in the future and try to explore more interesting things that I never come across before.
