XIMEA develops smart camera systems for factory automation and visual quality control applications, backed up by an innovative team of industrial engineers active since 1992.

Our full set of products covers a wide selection of machine vision and scientific cameras, featuring color and greyscale sensors, ranging from simple sensors or our board camera to self-sufficient vision systems such as our smart cameras with embedded PC.
The company’s family of intelligent cameras consists of not less than 12 different models, featuring Intel Atom processors and compatibility with virtually all machine vision libraries from major vendors.
It’s our declared aim to give the automation industry the liberty to deploy their already available or preferred imagining solutions and know-how on new, economical, cutting edge and non-proprietary hardware solutions at lower acquisition costs and a fast return on investment. The compatibility with all common (and less common) standard interfaces such as RS232, IE1934, GenICam/GenTL, GigE Vision or easy PLC integration – to name just a few of the further advantages – make our smart cameras an ideal solution for ROI oriented quality control.
For some 20 years our team developed innovative solutions. Among them the implementation of Fast Fourier Transform running in real time on the first Pentium PCs , Firewire (IEEE-1394) cameras with cooling, USB interface cameras, a 2nd generation of Firewire cameras with real time features or one of the first Atom based smart cameras of the world.
