xolani sibeko

my name is Xolani Thembi Sibeko born and raised in meadowlands Soweto. I grew up in a township that was mainly affected by social ills such as school drop-outs, crime and teenage pregnancy. I am a third year student at the university of Johannesburg and I am studying bachelor

of education. My majors are Economics, Tourism and economic management sciences. I am concerned with economic growth and sustainability hence my subjects really deal with that a lot. I went into the field of teaching because of the influence that some of my teachers had in my life and I also wanted to do the same for the next generation of learners. i believe that many will be actually be inspired to become better people if I share my hard and painfull background that did not determine my altitude. I describe myself as a resilient person who makes the best out of every difficult situation.I like taking part in any activity that has to do with sharing knowledge and empowering other people. apart from being a student at the university of Johannesburg, the university gave me a job to tutor second year students. I tutor a module called methodology and practicum where we show students some of the useful teaching methods that will help them in future as teachers. I am a teacher I touch lives
