I once was lost, but now I'm found; Was blind but not I see. Personal: After 35 years as a practicing alcoholic and addict, God first got my attention about 20 years ago. There have been other occasions where He's had to take a bat to the back of my head to keep me focused, but I count myself blessed beyond measure. After being a taker extraordinaire for many years, I now enjoy sharing with people the love and grace that God has shown me. Professional: ll I ever wanted to be was a newspaper reporter. OK, I first wanted to be an archaeologist, but as I got old enough to read "Help Wanted" ads in the newspaper, I noticed there weren't a lot of calls for archaeologists. Tried college in the 1970s, but obviously wasn't ready. Did radio sports and news for 12 years and then segued into print. Really enjoyed it, but realized if you wanted to make money you needed to be an editor. Bad mistake. I'm a grunt. Loved writing for the 20 years I did it, but the final few years were serving as what my wife called an ediporter - a hybrid that wears both hats in small daily newspapers. I now handle logistics and customer service for a food processing company.
