Xuam Lawson

Xuam Lawson is the Program Director for WFSK 88.1FM. He also hosts his own Gospel Program, "Real Gospel" with The Xman.

Real Gospel airs Sundays 9am to 12n and has a tremendous following. It features music from the legends of gospel, combined with today's contemporary gospel, industry news, and interviews. His Ministry of Music is one of the fastest growing Gospel programs heard on Sunday reaching an unspecified amount of people and continues to grow. People have come to call it, "church service on the radio" helping to save souls where ever they tune in.

He grew up in church having his grandfather as Pentecostal preacher, his father a Baptist preacher and spent second to ninth grade attending Catholic school. He was licensed to preach in the Baptist church and ordained as a church Elder in the Church of God in Christ. His diverse background allows him to speak and witness across denomination lines. He has preached before A.M.E. Baptist, Non-Denominational, COGIC, and many others.

Active in faith and in the community, he currently serves as Youth Pastor at the Cathedral of Praise Church COGIC under the leadership of Bishop Jerry L. Maynard SR. He is a Gulf War Veteran, he served two terms as the Communications Chair of the Nashville Branch of the NAACP; he is a Prince Hall Mason, Shrine, Phi Beta Sigma fraternity member, and has been the Adviser for the Fisk University Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma.

He currently has an A.S. Degree in Radio Broadcasting from Draughons Jr. College (Now Day-mar Institute) and a B.S. in Pastoral Studies from the American Baptist College. He is currently working on his Master of Divinity at I.T.C. (The Interdenominational Theological Center) in Atlanta. Xuam Lawson is currently the lead male columnists for the Tennessee Tribune newspaper in Nashville TN. He writes a weekly column called "Ask the Elder" which he helps to answer questions of faith submitted by people who have questions about God, faith, religion and social justice.

Elder Lawson is a proud son, father, husband, uncle, nephew and he is married to Rigena Lawson of Texas. Together they both raise a beautiful blended family.
