Yael Bar-tur

Yael was born and raised on the coast of Israel. At the age of 18 she was drafted to the Israeli Defense Force, where she served as a liaison the foreign press. She has since volunteered for reserve duty on the Israeli Lebanese border in 2006 and in Haiti following the earthquake of 2010. Yael worked for three years at the Consulate General of Israel in Los Angeles prior to her studies at Harvard. She is currently a candidate for a Master in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and an International and Global Affairs fellow at Harvard’s Belfer Center. Over the summer Yael worked for New York’s Finest (the NYPD), and her passion is to help police departments further engagement with residents through social media. Yael enjoys cooking, sharing her cooking and the occasional funny cat on the internet.
