"I wasn't born this way. One creates oneself. I believe whatever I dream. Whatever I dream, I want to do"
-Grace Jones-
She listens to Gainsbourg, and is fascinated by Lynch and the cabaret-world of the thirties.
After graduating from fashion school in Paris and working for a time at Agent Provocateur in London,
Yael Landman establishes her own brand in 2001. She wants the collection to be highly luxurious.
She does her own take on the taboos surrounding erotic lingerie, uses jewelry to magnificent effect, plays with asymmetry and transparency for greater intrigue.
A completely innovative style which is immediately successful.
A few seasons later, in search of a creative challenge, she starts working with Sonia Rykiel, where she launches a first line in lingerie.
In 2004 she moves on to A.F. Vandevorst for a period of real collaboration with a Belgian team.
In 2007 Kiki de Montparnasse invites her to New York to take over the creation of the lingerie line. Off to New York for a year – a superb experience.
The idea of re-launching her own collection brings her back to Belgium.
A project which is directly inspired by her taste in music and cinema: glam, rock and decidedly chic.
The blueprint of this deliciously provocative collection is seductive.
