Richard Jordan
Richard Jordan has served in many capacities within the UN Non-governmental world for the last 30 years. He was one of the 5 original co-founding editors of the Earth Negotiations Bulletin, the journal of record at environment and development negotiations worldwide. He currently is one of four co-chairs of the Experts Group working on the 64th Annual UN Dept. of Public Information Conference for 2500 NGOs in Bonn, Germany, which serves as a contributing meeting for the Rio + 20 Earth Summit in June 2012. Richard chaired the emost successful of these annual conferences in 2007 on Climate Change, and serves as a main editor of ClimateCaucus.net, the online followup report of that conference. Richard has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, Friends of the United Nations and Symphony for United Nations. He also served for 6 years as a member of the Board of Governors of the National Arts Club, a 115-year old national arts educational institution in New York City. In the local Gramercy Park area of NYC, Richard served as thurifer and verger at Calvary/St. George's Episcopal Church for over 30 years, and has covered 8 Episcopal General Conventions and two Lambeth Conferences as accredited media. Also in the Gramercy Park area, Richard has served as President of a 30-year old city-wide citizens organization. Richard has served as a mentor for youth at the United Nations. Loving the role of journalist, Richard serves as Senior International Correspondent for South-South News and also serves as a UN archivist for H.E. Dr. Leonel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic. Bridging the generations, Richard represents a non-profit organization at the United Nations dealing with older persons and information technology, and has been Special Project Coordinator for two worldwide student competitions on creating a society for all ages and another competition on information and communication technology.
