Yair Eddie Fraiman
Director of Public Diplomacy, Project Manager, and Public Speaker in Jerusalem, Israel
Yair Eddie Fraiman is the Senior Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Strategic Affairs & Public Diplomacy.
He is creating and managing projects combating delegetimization of Israel and the BDS movement.
Previously served as Director of Interactive Media & Public Diplomacy at the National Information Directorate of the Israeli Prime Minister's Office.
Yair has previously served as the Social Media Director for the Israel Ministry of Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs, in which he directed the first Ministry's official operations war room during the 2012 Operation Pillar of Defense, as well as directing the national social media war rooms during operation Protective Edge in 2014 leading the #IsraelUnderFire campaign, which was acknowledged by TimeMagazine as one of the top ten Hashtag campaigns of 2014.
He is also a Captain in the Israel Defense Force Reserves, serving in the IDF Spokesman Interactive Media Unit. He served as a Parliamentary Advisor for government minister Gen. (Ret.) Yossi Peled and worked as a representative of the Jewish Agency for Israel in the Sarasota Manatee, FL, Jewish Community in a variety of educational and community outreach positions both in Israel and in the Jewish Diaspora abroad. He also has extensive experience in campus and student organization.
Born in 1984 in the former USSR Republic of Kazakhstan, immigrated to Israel in 1990 when he was 6 six old, raised in an economically struggling town in Israel's Galilee, Yair holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an MA in Diplomacy and Political Science in Tel Aviv University researching the Palestinian Arab's Soft Power from 1948 to 2010.
He is also a former Bronfman Fellow.
Fully fluent in English, Russian and Hebrew, Yair is committed to strengthening Israel-Diaspora relations, to improving Israeli Hasbara and Public Diplomacy, and to fighting delegitimization and bias against Israel.
He currently lives in the northern city of Yoqne’am with his wife and two young children. He and his wife (an immigrant from the United States) live the dream of connecting Jewish communities from around the globe through Israel.
