Yamkela Sopazi

I am a student and volunteer currently living in Stilfontein. My interests range from education to acting. I am also interested in reading, cooking, and running. I also believe in education as a tool to be used for transforming people's lives and also a tool to develop learners as critical thinkers. Being a Volunteer at the University of Johannesburg has helped me a lot in gaining communication skills which is a very important aspect that one should have as an aspiring teacher. I find the community in which I live in as an important component in my teaching career, in 2018 I was part of UJ Community Engagement and I was the Volunteer Champion. In 2019 I was also honored when I was voted UJ's Iconic Man, a program that deals with issues affecting men in our societies. I am currently the chairperson of the UJ Institutional Office for HIV/AIDS (IOHA) APK Campus.
