Sabella Yandinata
Research Assistant and Project Officer in Jakarta, Indonesia
Bella is a Research Assistant and Project Officer at Atma Jaya's Institute for Advanced Research and Institute of Public Policy.
Bella's intellectual excitement lies in tracing the movement of influence: how beliefs and power become institutionalized, reshaped, or resisted as they travel among actors across layers of governance. Indonesia’s decentralized and ideologically diverse politics, like those across Southeast Asia, offer compelling sites to observe these dynamics.
Bella's previous work has examined the emergence of family-resilience policies, the persistence of dynastic power, and the dynamics of youth political participation. Bella is particularly drawn to understanding how institutional variation emerges and evolves through case comparisons and policy network analysis. Bella supplements her legal training with empirical grounding in informal institutions, political structures, and organizational behavior, translating insights into analytical models that connect Indonesia’s cases to broader patterns of diffusion and governance.
