Yanyan YE
Student in Hong Kong, 香港
Hi, I’m Yanyan. I’m a Ph.D student working in Prof. Catherine McBride's lab, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Right now, I am working on research related to how Chinese children learn to write characters and words(spelling in Chinese). In particular, I am interested in how Chinese literacy(especially "spelling") development different from other orthographies and whether Chinese children may have particular difficulties in learning to "spell" and what is/are better indicator(s) for diagnosing it.
Actually, I have a variety of interests in cognitive, language, and social development. I am fascinated by anything that is brilliant, groovy, and innovative, by which cognitive psychology impresses me. I was (am still) interested in intervention and training studies because the application of psychology knowledge, which benefits the world, makes me feel fabulous. And I think that is the value and destination of all psychology studies.
