Yari Aborka

“I find my sanctuary in songwriting —a realm of authenticity and realness intertwined." As a songwriter, I believe that creating melodies and lyrics are always a reflection of reality and that we, songwriters, believe in the power of sharing stories through music. Through this, I've known my real life purpose and that is not to impress but to express that is why I began writing my own songs since I was in high school. I started writing songs for short films which I learned and venture out the art of storytelling through songwriting. To enhance more my knowledge about music, I am currently studying Bachelor of Music - Music Technology at the University of Santo Tomas. I also started performing as the Vocalist, Rhythm Guitarist and Main Songwriter of our independent local pop/rock/alternative band “July Honey.” I am also currently a member of the University of Santo Tomas Coro Tomasino. Through this I was able to venture out the world of Chorale Singing.

I believe that I being a musician gave me avenues of exploring other musical journeys such as music production and also teaching. With this, I was able to release 2 songs on Spotify namely “song 4 u by Yari Aborka feat. munchkin” & “minutes (demo) by Yari” which I produced, mixed & mastered. I also started teaching private guitar and ukulele lessons for beginners. Moreover, I also share my choral Singing and Chorale music learnings by conducting our church's choir the St. Jude Thaddeus Parish Youth Ministry Choir.

Life is an endless path of learnings. With unwavering dedication on sharing the power of music, it is my great joy and passion to offer you any of my musical services especially to anyone who seeks to write their own songs with genuine expression of authenticity, play their guitar with grace and sing beautifully.
