In 2006, Yaritza was recognized by the White House as an outstanding American Scholar and received many awards totaling over $140,000 in scholarship money to attend college.
She earned a dual degree in Public Relations and Journalism from Seton Hall University, where she attended on a full academic scholarship.
Yaritza is passionate about she helping Latino families navigate the college admissions process and apply for scholarships. She often delivers English & Spanish college prep workshops to parents and students in underserved areas. She is the founder of a new nonprofit, Project Scholarship Geek. It is an organization dedicated to helping parents and students navigate the college admissions process. (Currently seeking 501c3 status)
Yaritza was raised in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico & Newark, New Jersey and currently resides in the New York metro area. She is a self-proclaimed marketing geek, NYC-style salsera, and curly hair advocate.
