Yasmina Choueiri
Visiting Assistant Professor in Université Catholique Louvain, Brussels
I’m a self-driven specialist in environmental planning, impact assessment and water governance with more than 10 years of experience.
I’ve worked as a researcher and environmental consultant in the academic and professional fields. I've applied strategic thinking to find holistic solutions that improve environmental performance of urban areas and communities, in different multidisciplinary and multicultural projects such as Byblos 100 Resilient City,Lebanon’s Informal Infrastructure, or Lebanon’s Water Security Pilot Project.
My Ph.D. assessed the Lebanese Informal Water System at 3 levels: 1) Environmentally through an energy-water nexus and carbon accounting; 2) Socio-Economically through a comparative water affordability and disparities of two communities; 3) Governance through a stakeholder analysis of informal water tankers.
I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at Université Catholique de Louvain working on a proposal to address Brussel’s Circular Economy policy gaps by optimizing resource accounting of energy, water and material.
