Yasmin Belkhyr
Writer, Editor, and publisher in New York
I'm a Moroccan writer and editor, currently studying at Hampshire College. I'm the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the digital literary magazine, Winter Tangerine, as well as the independent publisher Honeysuckle Press. I am the author of Bone Light (African Poetry Book Fund and Akashic Books, 2017). My writing has appeared in Verse Daily, Rookie, PANK, and Waxwing, among other journals.
My creative work has been recognized and honored by the Norman Mailer Center, Princeton University, the YoungArts Foundation, Sierra Nevada University, the Presidential Scholars in the Arts program, and the National Student Poets program. My work have been performed and exhibited in the US Hall of Nations, the Kennedy Center, and the Lincoln Center, among other venues. I have led seminars for Poets House and YALDA, and I have also performed at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe for PBS, and MOMA PS1.
