Yasmin Perkins
Consultant, Public Speaker, and Small Business Owner in Washington, DC
I live by the motto “Love what you do, and do what you love.” I have the privilege of waking up every morning to do what I love. As a professional, I recognize that I have a unique skill set that doesn’t have to be marginally defined or segmented to just one professional arena. I am able to utilize my talents in multiple areas across more than one field and to do so successfully. The areas in which I have experience using my skillset (and am often asked to collaborate in) are social responsibility and philanthropy, innovative and creative planning, higher education, and the performing arts.
At the Linxx Group I am able to do what I love the most, CONNECT. I get to connect people to their clients, to each other, and I am able to truly have fun and be connected to the creative process of business leaders. The Linxx Group is passionate about sourcing the most talented creative professionals to help businesses big and small with bringing their vision to life in industries ranging from beauty, travel, non-profit, music, fashion, and entertainment to create unforgettable experiences for the consumer and business owners.
I have the privilege of employing my skills at Laureate Education as a Knowledge Manager in the College of Management. This organization believes in the power of education to change lives and communities. In my role, not only do I get to assist graduate and doctoral students during their tenure to become thought leaders, I also get to share with them and encourage them to incorporate positive social change in their career fields. At Laureate Education I get to be a thought leader. I am engaged in a network of amazing colleagues with many talents and connected to over 1 million students across the world making a difference in the lives of others in various fields ranging from Business, Psychology, Health Sciences, Public Policy, and Management.
My role at Laureate has given me the tools to take on leadership roles and has expanded my personal commitment to positive social change within my community. It is for this reason that I am involved in organizations such as Reading Partners, United Way Leaders United, Creative Nomads, The Colleen Perkins-Bailey Project for Kidney Disease Awareness, NFL Play 60, and The American Cancer Society.
Across all platforms I am challenged, inspired, engaged, and a change agent. I can truly say that I enjoy waking up and doing it all. There is no day that is the same, and there is never a dull moment.
