i am intersted in Natural Computing ... exp... consider how to harness the nature for computation. WHAT IS HARNESS? .. Consider, you have to move the group of sheep from here to another farm, which is in distant place. We have been trying to get every sheep and put them into a truck car: we've been forced to move a flock of sheep, which is traditional way of science and engineering. On the other hand, Herdsman who've been using a sheepdog sheepdog; we're intersted in such "in-direct" control by evoking resources that are embodied in the enviroment... Now we have three main research projects, Life Science, Ecology and Human Interactions & Computational Aesthetics; we have been looking for "resouces and mechanisums" that are able to use for harnessing the nature.

自然計算...といっても、従来とは少し毛色の変わった計算のしくみである”ハーネス”に興味を持っています。ハーネスとは...自然系を屈服して征服するのではなく、牧童のように自然を目的の方向へと”誘う”自然との対しかた。その”誘いかた”を「計算」として実現することによりハーネスする。
