Parsa Yazdi
structural engineer and Consultant in Tehran, Iran
I have failed more than a hundred times; but I still try to work, better to say, to work better! I have not touched my long-term dreams, and I have no clear view on when or how I may reach them; but I still dream!
This is what defines me, my failures define me. Every time I fail, I do not get tired or depressed. I stand up again and try to find more opportunities. I seek for my strengths to catch small successes so that I find a chance to get closer to my dreams!
Surprisingly, I am too much interested in multidisciplinary topics. I have a master’s degree in structural civil engineering, but I am crazy about management. Being neither a professional programmer, nor a computer scientist or a guy with speciality in robotics, but I find value in automation and doing things faster! How all these relate? I don't know, just think being a multidisciplinary person, I can do much bigger work in a short period of time! This is magic!
Novelty and doing work efficiently is my goal in the tasks I am assigned.
Therefore, I try to automate iterative tasks in structural engineering by programming some codes which are debugged once and can be used forever!
I also find value in human resource, and consequently I love being a part of teams. However, if the teams are not rewarding or rapid enough, open to share their ideas, tools, time; or team members are not eager to help their mates, I lose my courage to work with them.
I am also a little traditional in management, so I believe that colleagues should respect hierarchy in the teams. So, I absolutely think that senior members and those with more academic or professional background should be respected. I also try to learn from them, as much as possible (even if they are not updated enough).
Furthermore, I think that remote work should not replace the traditional office routines and engineers should be present in office or in the field. Too much remote work may adversely decrease their professional productivity and possibly may ruin their correct engineering experience.
I am always looking for good offers for positions in structural engineering consulting companies; and if the positions are inclined to programming, automation, robotics, or even engineering business management, I will be even more happy to think about them.
Just feel free to contact me for some discussion, I am usually a fast responder and do not take too long to reply my emails!
