Yma Orné Campbell is the author of three inspirational novels and one poetry book published by AuthorHouse. A native of Brooklyn, NY, Campbell discovered her love of writing in her 9th grade English class and has been writing and nurturing it ever since. Campbell is very passionate about helping others, making a difference, and impacting the lives of children and families through her books and speaking engagements.

Over the years her writing has included semi-autobiographical stories. Taking life lessons and her own experiences, Campbell writes books to help people deal with the slings and arrows that life can throw at us. She published “Tragedy and Loss: A Family Struggles to Move On”as therapy for herself while grieving the loss of her younger brother who died in a tragic car accident in 2006. Through the book, Campbell shared her story and has helped many deal with their own personal losses. She also went on to publish a story about family, sudden change, and acceptance in the dramatic story of “The Grandparents Club.”

Her affection for poetry is evident in her own collection of poems in her published book, “Literature for the Heart.” Campbell received the Editor’s Choice Award from the International Library of Poetry in 2007 which was recognized and published in Howard Ely’s Anthology titled, “Forever Spoken.”

Campbell's children’s book, “Manners, and Morals in Minutes for Children” published in 2010 is an easy to read story from a child's perspective that deals with the the differences and diversity in the world around us and how a group of children from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds come together and form a bond. Campbell is currently writing a tribute/memorial book to inspire Sandy Hook Elementary School, its community and students in which she spent many summers there with her family and holds dear to her heart.

Yma received a Bachelor’s Degree from Charter Oak State College in New Britain, Connecticut and she is currently pursuing a Masters Degree at this time. Yma also serves as the Development Manager of the George K. Campbell Scholarship Foundation where she fundraises for scholarships for Catholic education.
