Yesenia Salas

Hello, my name is Yesenia Salas and I am a junior here at North Carolina Central University. I am majoring in Nursing and minoring in Spanish. I love science and working others to get any task done. A little background about myself, I am the first of my siblings to attend college and I am half Puerto Rican therefore I choose to minor in Spanish for two reasons. The first reason is because I have family members on my dad’s side that I am unable to communicate with. The second reason is because in the United States today the population of Spanish speakers is increasing, so I would like to communicate with them especially in my field of study. After I graduate I plan on becoming a travling nurse and eventually would love to return back to school to obtain my masters. Currently I work for ResCare in a group home for people with disabilities. While working for this job I've gained experience on giving medicines, filling out documentation, giving showers and moving patients who are unable to move for themselves. I choose to work with this job one because it is a great experience and I love helping others in need.
