Yvonne Harper

I am married with two children and I have a 2 year old female black Labrador. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and I currently reside in
New Jersey and been there for 5 years. I love to travel and have fun. I’ve been to Florida several times, I took my first cruise two years ago to the Bahamas, last year I went to San Juan, Puerto Rico and this year I will be going to Cancun, Mexico. I strongly believe in working hard but treating yourself to a little fun and relaxation. Also, I enjoy going to festivals, amusement parks, taking long strolls in the summertime, going to the movies, power walking, seeing shows, walking in big puddles of water and playing in the snow. In addition, I love to cook and bake. Lastly, I am an educator and I teach students of special needs. Currently I am an inclusion teacher.

I’ve been a teacher for 8 years. The grades I currently teach are pre- k to 5 grade. I’ve taught all of the subjects except for gym. I also work as a teacher for an afterschool program. The main subject I teach is literacy. My students have worked on the SmartBoard and on our school’s eBoard and in programs such as Publisher, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Diigo and Paint.

Finally, I am currently pursing my master’s in Instructional Media. This is where I am learning how to expand technology in my lessons and use web 2.0 tools. I have created a YouTube, Flickr and Creative Commons account, completed digital stories, used Prezi, a slide share presentation, Glogster, worked in Photo shop, join twitter, have a blog, used voice thread and Ipadio, and Blog Talk Radio.
