Yvonne Coughlan, MA Theatre & Drama-UCC, from Kinsale is a writer, director & creative producer. She founded RSVP (Red Sandstone Varied Productions) in Nov. 2006, & since then created arts participation events; wrote &/or directed site specific, promenade, musical & traditional proscenium theatre, music videos, short film, art film; produced promotional tourism video, advertising video, documentary film; produced &presented radio podcasts, in Ireland, England, Scotland, Greece, Norway, Poland, Germany, USA & Australia, with creatives worldwide.
Most recently she became a Lecturer of the Arts Management and Creative Producing masters programme at University College Cork, and produced Retrospect Arts Festival with her MA students at Cork Opera House (COH) 31st March. Though her heart lies with casting/ directing performers, she is also a travel TV presenter, Voice-Over artist, MC & singer. She holds 5 Best Script awards for short film script Regret, which she is producing with Maurice Supple alongside their experimental process film Forgiveness in Fragments; she holds 2 best director awards for internationally multi-award winning, experimental silent short, An Étude in Art; & won best director for Embrace the World music video, a multi-vocal rock ballad by Kevin Walsh.
Voluntary positions held are Chairperson of the board for Dance Cork Firkin Crane (DCFC), Co-Ordinator for The National Campaign for the Arts in Cork South West, & founding chair of Kinsale Youth Theatre Project.
Among her proudest creations is the groundbreaking Inclusive Dance Cork, an accredited training for dancers; integrating all bodies, abled and disAbled, in professional dance. Yvonne is a founder member of the team, including DCFC, Suishe Arts-Horizons, Cork ETB, UCC who envisioned and created this dance education programme. Along with IDC Artistic Director Rhona Coughlan, and Head of UCC Theatre Dept. Yvon Bonenfant, she accepted the Community Foundation Ireland Access Award at the 2024 Business to Arts Awards. IDC is now embracing a new partnership with University of Limerick.
Yvonne is the resident VO artist for Visitorflix Media Group the inflight travel video specialists. Since 2014 she has produced Kinsale Halloween festivities, & the team are grateful that the participatory arts of An Tulca Festival, are supported by Cork County Arts Office, Failte Ireland, Pure Cork, Eli Lilly, TTK, First South Credit Union, Fanzini, RSVP, Super Valu, The EventHub and the local Kinsale community.
Yvonne is Creative producer of participatory arts project Hear the Queer Appear by artist Yvon Bonenfant, and previously produced his works The Opposite of Queer Trauma for Cork Midsummer Festival 2025, and, Loop Love at COH 2023 in collaboration with Alex Pentek & Jeffrey Weeter. She is the director of The Lord Mayor's Gala Christmas concert at City Hall (since 2023) & more recently An tAthrú (The Changeover) a participatory dance promenade for Kinsale Arts Weekend 2pm & 4pm, 12-July-26.
When she finds time, she continues editing her play Hold on Tight based on excellent feedback from Fishamble & The Abbey Theatre, her script for TV mini series, Surviving Eve,and her children's book Santa's Christmas Comet.
