Yiting Wang

Yiting is finishing her Master of Environmental Science at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. She found her passion in climate change and power of the international youth movement since she joined the China Youth Climate Action Network (CYCAN) in 2009. She has worked to mobilize youth for global climate actions, promote renewable energies and advocate for global environmental governance reforms with organizations such as CYCAN, Center for Science and Environment, United Nations Environmental Program, Natural Resources Defense Council. While interning at UNEP in Nairobi, she was also drawn to the resourcefulness of young Kenyans who were bringing clean energy systems into their communities. She co-founded the Rural Energy Enterprises Network to galvanize external partners and resources to enhance efforts by local youth groups across Kenya in fostering sustainable enterprises.
She has also conducted extensive field research in Kenya and India, assessing rural sustainable energy programs and the appropriateness of carbon finance. She is working on several publications based on the fieldwork. Yiting believes in building durable relationships across cultural and disciplinary boundaries to stimulate holistic solutions that recognize the interconnectedness of the world.
She graduated from Mount Holyoke College (Summa Cum Laude in Environmental Studies and minor in international relations).
